Tom Steckmest

Tom has been a Non-Executive Director of Wallem Group since March 2006 and resides in Norway. He is also the Managing Director of Wallem Steckmest & Co. AS and Viken Shipping AS.

After six years of working with Hollis Associates and Hill Samuel Bank Ltd, Tom founded Viken Shipping AS in 1993, the holding company for Viken Shipping Group. The Group focuses on ship ownership, ship management, and ship agency.

For over 25 years, Tom has supported several charities and trusts that help young people and children in Norway and abroad.

After high school, Tom attended the Norwegian Naval Academy and served two years in the Norwegian Military. He was educated at the University of San Francisco with a bachelor’s degree in finance as well as an MBA. He has lived and worked in San Francisco, London, and Bergen, Norway.
